With her pure and bright voice, she sang the revolutionary woman Sister Jiang into the hearts of countless people. When mentioning her, some will talk about her gold medal at the National Young Singers Competition, while others will smile and mention her figure, which fans privately call the "middle-aged heartthrob"—plump, confident, and particularly striking. 提起她，有人会说起她在青歌赛上的金奖，也有人会笑着提起她那被粉丝私下叫作“中年杀手”的身材——丰满、自信、特别有存在感。

可谁能想到，这个如今在北京电影学院当教授的歌唱家，当年也是从少年宫的小女孩，一步步走过来的。

She was born in Hefei, Anhui Province, in the summer of 1980. Even at that time, she was particularly fascinated by music. When she was a child, her parents sent her to the Huangmei Opera and Dance Troupe of the Children's Palace, originally wanting her to learn some Huangmei Opera for fun. Unexpectedly, she met a teacher who changed her life. After listening to her sing a few lines, the teacher said she had a good voice and might as well try vocal music. That sentence was like lighting a lamp; since then, Wang Li has fallen in love with singing and never let go. At the age of 14, she was admitted to the local art school, choosing not the popular path at that time, but the boring bel canto. She practiced vocalization and breath control every day—others found it hard, but she enjoyed it. With this persistence, she was admitted to the China Conservatory of Music, studying under the famous vocal music educator Professor Ma Qiuhua. At school, she was like a sponge, absorbing knowledge desperately and making rapid progress.她出生在安徽合肥，一九八零年夏天。

那时候的她，就对音乐特别着迷。

小时候父母把她送进少年宫黄梅歌舞班，本来是想让她学点黄梅戏玩玩，没想到遇到了改变一生的老师。

那位老师听她唱了几句，就说嗓子条件好，不妨试试声乐。

这么一句话，像点亮了一盏灯，从此王莉爱上了唱歌，再也放不下来。

十四岁她考进当地艺校，选的不是当时流行的路子，而是枯燥的美声唱法。

每天练声、练气息，别人觉得苦，她却乐在其中。

凭着这份坚持，她考进了中国音乐学院，师从著名声乐教育家马秋华教授。

在学校里，她像一块海绵，拼命吸收，进步飞快。

In those years, she participated in many competitions, accumulating experience for her future stage performances. At the age of 19, she represented her school in the Ministry of Culture's Art Song Competition and won the first place in the bel canto group in one fell swoop. This award was like opening a door, directly bringing her into the Air Force Political Department Art Troupe. At that time, it was not common for college students to be specially recruited by the military, but her strength was obvious to all. After entering the art troupe, she continued to maintain her hardworking spirit. She went to condolence performances with the troupe in harsh places such as the Tibet Plateau and island border defenses. Watching the soldiers listening intently in the wind and snow, she always felt that being able to sing for them was the greatest honor.那几年，她没少参加比赛，也为日后的舞台积累了经验。

十九岁那年，她代表学校去参加文化部艺术歌曲大赛，一举拿下美声组第一名。

这次获奖，像打开了一扇门，直接把她带进了空政文工团。

当时在校大学生被部队特招的并不多见，可她的实力摆在那里，谁都服气。

进了文工团，她继续保持那股不怕苦的劲头。

西藏高原、海岛边防，那些条件艰苦的地方，她都跟着团里去慰问演出。

看着战士们在风雪里听得入神，她心里总觉得，能为他们唱歌，就是最大的荣耀。

In 2004, at the age of 23, she stood on the stage of the CCTV National Young Singers Television Grand Prix and won the gold medal in the bel canto group. That session of the competition had a high status in the vocal music circle, and she truly entered the public eye from then on. But Wang Li was never just a singer; she also turned her energy to opera performances. In 2007, she took on the role of Sister Jiang in the national opera "Sister Jiang". This role had been portrayed by several generations of artists before, so the pressure was understandable. To play the role well, she only slept a few hours a day, repeatedly reading the script and pondering the character. 二零零七年，她接下民族歌剧《江姐》里江姐这个角色。

为了演好，她每天只睡几个小时，反复读剧本、琢磨人物。

Now, facing students every day, directing plays and giving lectures, she has an extra sense of concern in her heart. Before, she only thought about polishing her singing skills; now, she thinks about how to pass on this love.
